University, drinking, girls and other such problems

But yeah, since my last news post I've moved out of home and started university doing a History and politics joint honours degree. It's quite an experience to say the least.
I moved in almost a month ago now, met my flat mates who are all alright I suppose, no one I've really hit it off with big time though, and then the fun started. A group of 2nd years had been designated the ' welcoming committee' for my block of flats, and, like any uni student would do, they welcomed us with large quantities of alcohol. About 12 crates of Carling...joy = D However, with 600 students...it ran out quickly, so the evening descended into raiding other peoples flats for their alcohol. I nicked about a litre of cider and a 6 pack of beer from someone... needless to say that on top of the various alcopops and beer that was given me I was well and truly hammered to the point of the next morning being told about doing stuff I don't remember. Then of course it was freshers week which also involved lots of beer and such things.
Eventually lectures started and I met some people that I hit it off properly with. A nice pair of girls one of which is quite attractive. However I have ye to ask her out for 2 reasons:
1) I am a coward
2) Not sure if I should potentially ruin a budding friendship
Lectures are, for the most part, alright, although in all honesty some of them are boring as hell. My seminars however suck. Big time. I have lots of foreigners with heavy7 accents and boring people. My frst essay is due in on the 26th of October, and I haven't even decided what I'm writing about yet ( it's either Machiavelli or Witches ).
Fun : )
